“When I first started training with Dan I was very skinny and my diet, although reasonably healthy, still needed improving, now 6 months later I am eating at the correct times and I have gained a lot of muscle mass, I’m no longer skinny and t-shirts that were loose on me now have a tighter fit round my body and biceps. To achieve this I have been training 3 times a week with Dan alongside maintaining my diet in my own time.

“I’ve been training with Specialized Personal Training over the last 6 months, in that time no two sessions with Dan have been the same, which has kept the training interesting, providing something new and challenging every time.
All previous resistance training I’ve experienced with other instructors has always centered around rep count, sets and weights. I believe its Dan’s unique approach of focusing on effort, form and intensity, using multi-angled exercises and zone training, that he has researched and developed over the last 20 years, that has provided the biggest and fastest gains I have ever experienced. “The instruction provided by Dan is fundamentally a different and more instinctive approach to weight training which is far more tailored to an individuals body shape, type and fitness profile. Gone are the routine ‘3 sets of 8-12’ (these only really work for genetic freaks – those who just have to do exercise to enhance muscle growth) replaced by a bespoke training plan in which weight training movements are broken down into smaller ranges of motion with control most important, where time under tension and non-repetitive exercise is key.
If you don’t follow any of this, don’t worry I was exactly the same. It is something Dan takes care to instruct and inform you of as you train, in a manner so you understand the principles yourself. My progress has always been far better with his supervision and motivation!
I would recommend Dan to anyone, from novice beginner to long term trainer as the method he uses is in complete contrast to the formulaic training most gyms instruct. If like I had, you have hit the wall and your training is going nowhere I recommend you see him – I have made real gains especially on body parts which i had over trained to injury. I would also recommend beginners use him, that way you won’t waste your time with the formulaic stuff which is not tailored to your needs – you will advance quicker.
This guy knows what he’s doing and is passionate about doing it – that is what you want in a personal trainer.”

“If you’re like the way I was before I began seeing Dan, that is, wanting to get a bit trim but lacking the know-how or self-discipline to do it, along with a history of unused gym memberships to boot; then Dan really is your man here – take that from me.
I seriously thought it’d just be something I tried once or twice, then write it off as another failed attempt at getting fit. But alas, no. Dan is brilliant. His repertoire extends way beyond just the process of lifting weights, his knowledge of the science behind what makes muscles tick means you get a bespoke programme suited to your particular genetics. “I’ve been training with Dan for 5 months now and in that time I have lost all my baby weight. If anyone had told me that exercising with weights would make me lose weight I would have laughed, that’s until I started training with them and using them properly, they can help you lose the weight, tone you up and totally change the whole look of your body.
When I was pregnant with my first child my skin over stretched, but by doing training and eating a healthy diet my stomach has shrunk and has gone down a lot. For the women out there who think weights make you look like a bodybuilder, think again! You will look so toned and have a lovely shape to show off.

“I have been attending personal fitness sessions with Dan for approximately two and a half months. The reason for meeting with Dan in the first place was because I had seen the results from other friends of mine having spent a period of time with him for different reasons. My reasons were individual, so I had a meeting to see if Dan could accommodate what my intentions were. Having had a fairly bad sporting injury I wanted firstly to lose some weight that I had gained and then work on strengthening my injured ankle, before then getting my fitness and strength up to play regular football again.
I cannot praise Dan enough for totally tailoring the first few sessions to build up some confidence and get me eating better before then upping the intensity to gain the fitness gradually so that I could see results without having to really torture myself in the process.
As the sessions are bespoke, Dan has made everyone slightly different working on all areas so it is fresh and keeps me on my toes, not knowing what to expect. My biggest fears of doing this in the first place were ‘would it get boring?’ and ‘I don’t want to spend hours and hours dedicated to being in the gym’ and can admit it is nothing like either.
Dan is unquestionably extremely knowledgeable about diet, the body and fitness techniques and has taught me a lot as we have gone along, making the sessions really interesting. I am sure that I am far from what he would class as a work of art, but we are working towards some goals and would encourage anyone to make the most of his services, especially if you have specific aims or don’t want to spend endless wasted hours in the gym.”
